Introduction

"Black Adder" is another BBC Television comedy from the 80s, starring one of Britians funniest and most talented comedy actors - Rowan Atkinson.

Throughout the ages men of flair, faculty and outstanding courage have contributed to England's glorious heritage. Others, like snivelling worm Edmund, Duke of Edinburgh (alias The Black Adder), the bitter and twisted son of a medieval king, have emerged from the dust of dodgy documents to claim their wrongful position in history.

Throughout the series most of the actors and actresses remain the same, only their characters change. Only Black Adder and the ever faithful Baldrick played by Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson respectively remain constant.

In the first series Black Adder is very stupid and knows very little about anything, whilst Baldrick is the one with all the clever ideas and thoughts. As the series progresses these roles are reversed and Baldrick becomes more and more stupid, while Black Adder gets more devious and witty.

This is one of my Top 5 favorite comedies, the scripts are just so well written and the actors and actresses who play the various parts are so well suited, the combination is just magic to watch.
